Bits 'n Bobs Author Blog
![]() Look what came in the mail yesterday! Any author can tell you, there are certain signposts along the path of publication. Starting a book. Finishing a book. Sending out that first query letter. Getting 'the call' or offer to publish your book. Seeing your name added to your publisher's release date list. Sending your book cover info to the cover artist. Seeing your cover for the first time. The first time you see your book listed on one of the retail sites. Holding your book in your hand. Well, here it is! So, how about a celebration? Comment on this post- ask (or comment on) anything about my writing; this book, my current work-in-progress, whatever- and you'll have a chance to win an autographed copy of The Highlander's Accidental Bride! (US or Canada recipient only) I'll post the winner Saturday, May 10th. Be sure to leave your email address with your comment or check back to see if you are the winner! Hi, Margo! I love the rich history of hospitality of the Highlanders. It translates into such honor and determination in the men and women. And there are those awesome photos of men in kilts, right? :-) Gotta love that!

When writing a book, do you ever end up loving just one part of the book better than the rest? I know when I read a book I have favorite parts. I am curious if writers do too? AshleyE8395 @ comcast.net

Great question, Kimi! Speaking for myself, there are certainly parts of any book that I have special feelings for. In The Highlander's Accidental Bride, the dog, Sorcha, rather snuck in, defecting to Mary's side when she needed it, bristling in at the king in Eaden's defense at court. Sometimes scenes are so insistent, I may write them first and build around them.

Hi, Shelia! I am a (fairly) new author :-)) The Highlander's Accidental Bride is the first book in the series. The second one, The Highlander's Reluctant Bride, is available as an ebook at Amazon. It will hopefully go to print later this year. Thanks so much for stopping by! Always great to find new readers!!!

Hi Cathy, I am new to your book, but I have to say that I'm addicted to Scottish romances, so "The Highlander's Accidental Bride" would be perfect for me to read and review! I adore the cover, so nice and so Scottish! I also read a beautiful review that Debbie wrote "wow a beautiful 5 stars", I can't miss this one, have to read! thank you! [email protected]

Hi, Nicole! I am so glad you stopped by! It's always so exciting to meet someone new. The lovely cover is by Rae Monet, and she has done the covers for the next two books. The second is out, the third will be out later this year. I truly hope you enjoy each of the stories!

Hi, Sarah! A little known fact- the working title was The Accidental Bride, but I wanted to be sure readers knew it was a Scottish romance, so added 'Highlander's' to it. It turned out to be a great idea. Some of the earlier drafts still have the old title :-)) And I agree- the Scots's history has me hooked!
