Wonderful Wednesday Personal Blog
5/27/2015 0 Comments Wonderful Wednesday in the GardenThe garden is full of beautiful flowers, many already forming tomatoes or cucumbers or other yummy veggies just waiting for a day of sunshine. I believe we've had 25+ inches of rain this month. Yikes! At least I haven't had to water the garden (yet). And just look at how it has grown! So, today I have a guessing game. See if you can identify all the lovely blooms in the photos below. I was surprised by how beautiful a couple of the flowers are. Do you have a favorite veggie bloom or one that is unusually pretty?

A little over a month ago, Angus the cat came to live with us. We had a couple of rough days in the beginning, but now Freki says he was the best gift ever. Last week I caught the two of them piled on the bed playing. They must have played like this for 15 minutes or more. I thought I'd share some of the photos. Note: Freki very gently mouths the cat and never closes her teeth on the leg or head or other cat part. Angus seems to reciprocate with feisty blows with sheathed claws. No cats or dogs were harmed in these photos :-) Well, Angus has lived with us for a little over a month, now, and things are going fine. If you read the first post about this cutie, you know his first hours here were fraught with peril in the form of a GSD who considered him an evil interloper. Freki hated him on sight. But this integral problem was soon overcome, and they are buddies. Irritatingly so at 5 am when they decide to climb into bed and pick at each other. Angus loves toys that jingle, and if you add a feather--watch out! Play time! He got this charming toy yesterday, and he studied it for a bit before figuring it out. Now I have to be sure it is not available for play during the night. *o* So far the dogs have ignored the 'happy tunnel' as it is called. Each sniffed it and gave me the 'what, no treats?' look. Probably because it resembles a toy they used to have with 4 doors that opened to reveal snacks in the tray beneath. It was supposed to provide 'hours of mind-stimulating fun'. They all three mastered it within 5 minutes and scarfed the treats right down. Gotta find other things to occupy GSD and Corgi minds. Angus has mastered this toy, but, being a cat, adds his own twists and flips and improbable antics to the game. He stalks it, runs a paw in from both sides, flips, rolls and generally has a blast. And he keeps going back to it. Score! Of course, he still loves his fishing pole and jingly mouse, though they are beginning to show the signs of too much fun. What is your cat's favorite toy? Does he/she still play, or attained the status of disdainful observer? |
